Michel and Aliyev discussed the current state of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations

President of the EU Council Charles Michel and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev discussed the current state of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations during the meeting held in Baku today, the press service of the President of Azerbaijan reports.

“President Aliyev noted that he highly appreciates Charles Michel’s role in the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The president of Azerbaijan emphasized that the structure of the ongoing negotiations between Baku and Yerevan and the most important directions of the agenda were formed during Michel’s mediation mission,” the message states.

The President of the EU Council also referred to this meeting in a post made in X.

“After the discussions held in Budapest last week with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, today (in Baku) we discussed the current state of the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Michel wrote.
