A monument to Alexei Navalny was unveiled in Lisbon opposite the Russian Embassy

The Association of Free Russians in Portugal, in agreement with the municipal authorities of Lisbon, achieved the creation of a memorial in memory of Alexei Navalny opposite the Russian embassy. It is at this place that representatives of the association hold weekly rallies against the dictatorship in Russia and in support of Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation.

The unveiling of the memorial – a modest granite stone with the name and dates of life and death of the leader of the Russian opposition and the inscription “Don’t give up” in three languages, Russian, English and Portuguese – took place on Tuesday, November 12. Timofey Bugaevsky, a representative of the Association of Free Russians in Portugal, said: “We have no doubt that Vladimir Putin, recognized as a war criminal by the International Criminal Court, was involved in this murder.”

The widow of the politician Yulia Navalnaya was also present at the opening of the memorial. “I flew to Lisbon for the WEB summit, and it coincided that it was on this day that a memorial to Alexey was opened in the city opposite the Russian embassy,” she wrote on her account on the social network X.com. “Many thanks to the initiative group that achieved this, and the municipal authorities of Lisbon, who coordinated everything. And most importantly, thanks to all the wonderful people around the world who remember Alexey and want to perpetuate his memory.”
