The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, arrives in Tehran on November 13 for negotiations on the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The visit comes amid an exchange of blows between Israel and Iran.
Another factor is the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential election, who in his first tenure in the White House withdrew from the agreement on the fate of Iranian nuclear developments. He is expected to take a tougher stance on Iran than current President Joe Biden.
“The room for maneuver is beginning to shrink. It is necessary to find ways for a diplomatic settlement,” said the head of the IAEA, while at the same time accusing Iran of insufficient transparency of developments.
Israel and the United States say that the nuclear program of the Ayatollah regime is military in nature, official Tehran claims that this is not so. Grossi said Iran has the materials to create nuclear weapons, but does not yet possess them.
