Javier Milei takes away Cristina Kirchner’s pensions after being convicted of defrauding the State: “It’s common sense”

The Government of Javier Miley announced this Thursday that it will cancel the pensions that Cristina Kirchner receives as former president and widow of the president.

“By order of President Javier Milei and behind the work of the Ministry of Human Capital, through the ANSeS, it was resolved to cancel the privilege assignment that the former president Cristina Kirchner was receiving both in the personal allowance and in the pension derived from the late former president Néstor Kirchner,” stated the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, in his usual press conference.

Kirchner was paid until now 21.87 million pesos per monthwhich is equivalent to 20,070 euros.

The decision came after the ruling of the Federal Court of Cassation, known this Wednesday, which ratifies the sentence of six years in prison and perpetual disqualification from holding public office of the former president. for defrauding the State.

“The benefit provided by law for former presidents and vice presidents is an allocation that is non-contributory and It is granted exceptionally as compensation for honor, merit and good performance in the position. The lady was convicted by the Chamber as the perpetrator of the crime of fraudulent administration, which is why she represents the opposite of honor, merit and good performance,” Adorni highlighted.

Fernández de Kirchner, who governed Argentina for two periods between 2007 and 2015, she has just become president of the Justicialista Party (Peronism) and is analyzing being a candidate in the 2025 midterm elections.

“Now it turns out that you want to create and preside over a ‘Court of Honor’ to judge the honor, merit and good performance in office of the former Presidents and former President of the Nation. And to top it off… A Court with powers to set and apply penalties accessory to those of the Judiciary?”, Kirchner reacted after learning of Milei’s decision.

“You are so off axis that the little dictator that you always carried inside is appearing (the Argentines who voted for you in good faith will not live long enough to regret having done so),” he attacked. And he added: “Do you want to join forces with the judicial mafia to persecute me too? Are you that afraid of me? I tell you that I was very afraid of the dictator Videla. But you only make me feel sorry for you and embarrass you. Be careful Milei… Look, Olivos has made more than one person dizzy.”

“And tell me… Who makes up this ‘Court of Honor’? “You, your sister (Karina Milei) and (Manuel) Adorni?” the former president continued. “The truth is that if they have a contest to see who is the biggest idiot, they end up tied. And Milei… stop giving illegal orders to officials, there is no proper obedience here. Get advice! The pension of former presidents is not granted for good performance, but for the merit of having been elected by the people as President of the Nation.“.

“The poor performance of a president can only be judged by the National Congress through the constitutional process of Impeachment, during the exercise of the mandate. For a very simple reason Milei: only the people, through their representatives, can revoke him. the honor and merit of having been elected President of the Nation”, he concluded. “What part don’t you understand Milei? Basic Constitutional Law. To think that there are people who voted for you believing that you knew a lot.”
