The news of the meeting was published by the newspaper The New York Timeson Friday (15) indicating that the meeting took place in New York, on Monday (11), with the aim of reducing tensions between the two countries. In a statement, Baghaei said he was “surprised” by the US media coverage of the matter.
According to the American newspaper, Iranian sources, who did not wish to be identified, reported that Musk and the ambassador met for around an hour and that “the meeting was positive”.
