The 21-year-old suspect used a knife to attack at Ho Tich Technical Institute, leaving 8 people dead and 17 injured.
“The knife attack occurred at Ho Tich Technical Academy at 6:00 p.m. today (7:00 p.m. Hanoi time), killing 8 people and injuring 17 people. The suspect was arrested at the scene,” said regional police. Yixing is located in Wuxi city, Jiangsu province, eastern China, the announcement said.
Preliminary investigation showed that the suspect is a man named Tu Mo Kim, 21 years old, a former student. This person decided to return to school to vent his anger because he failed the exam, couldn’t get a diploma, and was dissatisfied with the low-paying internship position.
Officials said the suspect confessed to the crime. “Authority forces are treating injured victims, deploying recovery teams and comprehensively investigating the incident,” the Yixing regional police agency said.
The problem of using violence to “revenge society” in China often targets schools and children, although city officials have increased school security and surveillance of public places.

In May, a woman stabbed two people with a knife and injured 10 people at a primary school in Guixi city, Jiangxi province. Also this month, a knife attack at a hospital in Yunnan province left two people dead and 21 injured.
