The chairman of the anti-corruption committee, Sasun Khachatryan, has written an application for dismissal, “Azatutyun” reported from the committee.
The former head of the Special Investigation Service, who worked at the Yerevan Prosecutor’s Office for about 17 years during the presidency of Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, and was the deputy prosecutor of Yerevan in 2008, was appointed the chairman of the newly created Anti-Corruption Committee in September 2021.
On Sunday, the Armenian media reported that Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Argishti Kyaramyan, Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee Sasun Khachatryan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, Chairman of the SRC Rustam Badasyan were fired or will soon be fired. The government did not respond to these publications.
Two days ago, at the government session, the Prime Minister expressed strong and sharp dissatisfaction with the law enforcement system, declaring that his patience was over.
