The polls have closed for the regional elections in Emila Romagna and Umbria, where the match between the outgoing governor Donatella Tesei, exponent of the centre-right, and the centre-left challenger, Stefania Proietti, appears to be on the line: the first is given by the exits poll between 46.5% and 50.5%, the second between 46% and 50%. In the historic red stronghold, however, the candidate of the ‘wide field’, Michele De Pascale (given between 53% and 57%), is clearly ahead of Elena Ugolini, centre-right candidate, given between 39% and 43%. . It was the second and final day of voting for 4.6 million citizens and turnout appeared to be in sharp declinewith a partial figure equal to 44.5% in Emilia Romagna and 52.4% in Umbria.
In Emilia Romagna there are four candidates for the presidency: Michele de Pascalesupported by a broad centre-left which also includes the 5 Star Movement and the Renzians included in the ‘civic’ list; Elena Ugolini, civic candidate supported by the entire center-right; Luca Teodori for the no-vax list Loyalty, Coherence and Truth and finally Federico Serra, in progress with a list representing Potere al Popolo, Rifondazione Comunista and the Communist Party.
In Umbria there are 9 candidates. The outgoing Donatella Tesei for the united centre-right; Stefania Proietti candidate of the Pd+5 Star Movement broad camp; Martina Leonardi for Together for resistant Umbria; Marco Rizzo for Popular Sovereign Democracy and Reformist Alternative; Moreno Pasquinelli for the Front of Dissent; Fabrizio Pignalberi for Più Italia sovereign and Quinto polo per l’Italia; Elia Francesco Fiorini for Alternative for Umbria; Giuseppe Paolone for Forza del Popolo; Giuseppe Tritto of Humans together free.
