Hezbollah Secretary General postpones speech due to threat to his security

The deputy chairman of Hezbollah’s political leadership told Al Jazeera that the organization’s new secretary general, Naim Qassem, had postponed a planned speech due to a threat to his security.

Apparently, Naim Qassem intended to comment on the ongoing US-mediated ceasefire negotiations with Israel.

According to Al Jazeera, the upcoming speech by Hezbollah’s secretary general was announced shortly after US Administration Special Representative Amos Hochstein said that “there is a real opportunity to end the war between Hezbollah and Israel.”
