Horror in the north of Croatia: Received six years in prison for raping a pregnant partner

Youngć (34) from north-western Croatia was illegally sentenced to six years in prison by a county court for raping his extramarital wife.

The prosecution accused him of hitting his wife several times on the back during March of this year in their shared home, after she refused sexual intercourse. She left the house, but at his persuasion and calling, she still returned. Then he started to verbally attack her again and, despite the threat, had sex with her.

The next day, she reported him to the police, who arrested him. The time spent in the pre-trial detention center from March 21 onwards will be included in his sentence.

Since he was sentenced to a sentence of more than five years, he remains in pre-trial detention until the verdict becomes final. Also, the court exempted him from paying the costs of the proceedings.

As we unofficially find out, he was previously punished for misdemeanors for domestic violence.
