Duda also wins table tennis revenge against Lebrun

The German national table tennis player Benedikt Duda surprisingly also won the European Championship revenge against France’s Olympic star Felix Lebrun. At the WTT finals for the best 16 players of the year, the European vice champion beat the 18-year-old fourth in the world rankings with 3:2 sets.

“I played even better against him today than in my win in the European Championship quarter-finals in Linz, when I came from behind,” said Duda. At the European Championships, Lebrun was shown a red card after his defeat against Duda because he destroyed an LED board with his racket in anger.

Former European champion Dang Qiu also reached the quarter-finals of the WTT finals in Fukuoka, Japan. The 28-year-old from Borussia Düsseldorf won 3-2 against Lin Yun-Ju from Taiwan after being 2-0 down and defending three match points.
