Iran crashes: the cooperation that threatens to change the Middle East

Researcher Dr. Nabil Alatom was interviewed by the “Al-Hadath” channel and referred to Iran’s fear of losing its regional forces, and to the leaks that indicate unprecedented intelligence cooperation between Israel and Syria.

According to his words, the Iranians express a real fear of losing their strategic depth in the Middle East, following the defeats experienced by Hezbollah forces in Lebanon and the international efforts to disarm the organization, which threatens the stability of their influence in the region. “There is confusion and even partial fear of Iran, especially after the recent developments,” Alatom said. “The Iranians feel a loss of control after significant damage to the ranks of Hezbollah.”

Alatom also noted the impact of the intelligence cooperation between Syria and Israel, and claimed that the information provided by the Syrian intelligence services to Israeli and foreign intelligence agencies contributed to the surveillance of senior leaders in Hezbollah, Hamas and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. “The Iranians are confused and disturbed by the media leaks that describe the intelligence cooperation with Syria, which casts doubt on the loyalty of the Syrian regime,” he said.

The researcher also referred to the recent visits of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Fred Bashar al-Sabak, and the estimates that they were intended to test Assad’s loyalty in the war. “The Iranians are aware that there are many signs that Syria is cooperating with Israel in an unprecedented way,” he noted.
