Putin confirms the serial production of the Oreshnik, the last ballistic missile fired against Ukraine

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, confirmed this Friday that after the tests carried out with the new Oreshnik ballistic missile over the territory of Ukraine, it has been decided to give the ‘green light’ to its serial production and subsequent distribution among the Armed Forces. Strategic Missiles of the Russian Armed Forces.

“It is necessary to establish mass production,” the Russian president stated during a meeting in Moscow with the main leaders of the Ministry of Defense, to whom he confirmed that “the Oreshnik missile production system, of which has extolled his “special strength and power.”

The day before, Putin launched a speech to the nation in which he reported the use of this new projectile against Ukrainian territory. The Oreshnik is a medium-range ballistic missile capable of traveling at a speed of up to three kilometers per second and against which, he claims, the West has no response capacity.

“As you all know, no one in the world has such weapons yet. Yes, sooner or later they will appear in other leading countries. We know what developments are taking place there, so it will be tomorrow, or in a year or two, but today Today we have this system and that is what is important,” he stated.

“Yesterday I informed the personnel of the Armed Forces, the citizens of Russia, our allies around the world, as well as those who try to blackmail us by force, about the new Russian medium-range missile system,” Putin recalled. , which specified that the Oreshnik has “non-nuclear hypersonic equipment.”

Despite everything, Putin has stressed that “the solution of problems within the framework of the special military operation”, the euphemism with which Moscow refers to the invasion of Ukraine, will be resolved thanks to the performance of regular troops, aviation, artillery and navy, and with “the coordinated work of all branches of the Army.”

The war in Ukraine broke out more than a thousand days ago, when at the end of February 2022, Putin himself ordered the invasion of his neighboring country. Since then the conflict has progressed without a break, with the front lines practically stagnant, although with clashes also in Russian territory after the Ukrainian incursion on Kursk last August.
