Marriage over with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock

Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens, 43) and her husband Daniel Holefleisch (51) have separated. “We decided together in a lengthy process some time ago that we are no longer a couple,” she quotes Bild-Newspaper from a joint statement by Baerbock and Holefleisch. It also says that German press agency Paper available in Berlin: “To forestall possible speculation: There are no new partners.”

The current foreign minister and the communications advisor married in August 2007. They have two daughters aged 9 and 13. Together, Baerbock and Holefleisch emphasize: “In deep meaning for each other, we remain a pair of parents who continue to be present together in the lives of our children.” They add: “The most important thing for us remains to work together to ensure that our two daughters can grow up in peace and in a loving environment.” For this reason, we continue to live in our shared home in Potsdam.

Ask to accept privacy

The statement continued: “Especially for the well-being of our children, we strongly ask that our family’s privacy be respected.” No further explanations will be given. According to the Bildnewspaper, Baerbock and Holefleisch spent the autumn holidays together with their daughters.
