The UN deposed Alice Ndrito who claimed that Israel did not commit genocide

According to Ndrito, the term “genocide” was coined in 1944 by the Polish lawyer Raphael Lemkin to describe massacres of entire ethnic groups with the aim of exterminating them.

That definition, Ms. Ndrito said, includes the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide, the Serbian massacre of Bosnian Muslims and may also include the ethnic killing currently taking place in Sudan.

“As a legal matter, establishing a pattern of violence as genocide requires a demonstration of intent. Israel’s campaign of self-defense is ineligible. In the war against Hamas there were many casualties, but Israel’s strategy was aimed at dismantling a terrorist regime, not eliminating an ethnic group. The Jewish state made great efforts to minimize Losses of Palestinian civilians, even when Hamas uses civilians as shields so that their deaths can be used as propaganda,” claimed Ndrito.

It is likely that Ndrito’s words did not hit home with what the anti-Israel crowd at the UN wanted to hear or the claim published on November 14 in the UN report which found that there are “serious concerns about violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws” and “the possibility of genocide in Gaza” and the apartheid system in the West Bank.”

However, Secretary-General Guterres has the authority to extend Ms. Nedrito’s contract. As a general rule, UN contracts are often renewed when their terms expire, which is closer to justifying Ms. Nedrito’s removal as a political choice.
