Al-Mayadeen: opponents of the Assad regime control more than 40% of western Aleppo

The Lebanese TV channel Al-Mayadeen, associated with Hezbollah, reports that, as of the morning of November 30, armed groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham control more than 40% of the western districts of the city of Aleppo in northern Syria.

Judging by the available data, opponents of the Bashar al-Assad regime are successfully developing an offensive against Aleppo.

According to the Syrian Center for Human Rights (SOHR), up to 300 people were killed in several days of fighting in the New Aleppo area. Most of them are rebels and soldiers of the Syrian army, however, according to the UN, at least 27 civilians, including eight children, became victims of armed clashes. SOHR reported that armed groups took control of five neighborhoods in Aleppo itself, as well as the city of Saraqib in Idlib province.

Russian aviation, as reported by Syrian media, supports Assad’s army near Aleppo. There were no reports of casualties among the Russian military. Although the telegram channels of the Syrian opposition talk about the seizure by militants of a number of objects previously controlled by the Russian military.

It is noteworthy that, although the militants themselves attacking the positions of Assad’s army do not hide the fact that they are supported by Turkey, there are often allegations in pro-Assad and Iranian media that Israel is behind the attack.
