The president of the so-called National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Hadi al-Bahra, who is outside Syria, announced on Al Jazeera that meetings are planned at the international level to determine the future fate of the country.
Al-Bahra said his people would meet with representatives of Arab and European countries, as well as United Nations leaders.
It is currently unclear how Syria will be governed.
Note that al-Bahra makes his statements while in Turkey.
Earlier, the command of the forces of the jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the pro-Turkish armed opposition units announced that the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria had been overthrown. Thousands of people gathered in the central square of Damascus, chanting “Freedom!”
The Syrian opposition issued a statement: “Damascus is liberated from Bashar al-Assad. We say to Syrian refugees from all over the world: a free Syria awaits you.”
According to preliminary data, Assad tried to fly out of Damascus. His plane disappeared from radar – possibly crashed. The information is being clarified.
