CNN, citing a source in Washington, reported that on Sunday, December 8, the US military carried out dozens of strikes against Islamic State militants and camps in central Syria.
B52 bombers, F15 fighters and A10 fire support aircraft were used to carry out the strikes.
The source noted that the strikes were carried out in order to prevent the Islamic State terrorist organization from taking advantage of the current situation in Syria to restore its capabilities. “Assessing the damage caused by the air force continues. There is no information that the attacks resulted in civilian casualties,” the source said.
