After the Zagorje peka, a reply arrives from Brnaz: ‘It is a crime against peka. Now let’s go to an even bigger one!’

After in August in Brnaze near Sinj they baked a record pie in a ‘pan’ with a diameter of two and a half meters and registered it for the Guinness Book of Records, this Sunday an answer arrived from Oroslavlje in Zagorje. In fact, the bread was baked there in a vessel with a diameter of three meters. But in Brnaze, our interlocutors laugh, they won’t forget or forgive that just like that.

– We will make even more, but in the style of Sergej Bubka. Our ć will now be 3.01 meters. That way, we can eat one centimeter every summer – says a resident of Brnaz, telling us that he carefully observed what they did in Zagorje with this traditional Dalmatian dish.

– Let’s face it, kudos to the boys for their hard work, but it’s not baking. It does not burn on sheet metal and earth, it must be completely covered with lye and clay so that there is no ventilation… and there are many other details that every Dalmatian will notice. In short, they were wrong in everything, it’s a crime against bread – laughingly our interlocutor added that it was not their fault, but that they would rather see that they broke the record with some traditional Zagorje dish.

As a reminder, 200 kilograms of veal and pork, 150 kilograms of potatoes and 50 kilograms of other vegetables went into the bakery in Oroslavlje, which they roasted for five hours. 13 cooks worked on the oven, and about 10 meters of wood were used. Every hour they opened the oven to mix the food, and for that they used a truck with a crane. About 1,500 portions of food were obtained.

There are about 80 kilograms of veal and the same number of kilograms of potatoes and 10 kilograms of various vegetables in the pek from Brnaz. It was baked for four hours, and about 500 portions were obtained. A team of about 30 people worked on the bakery, as well as the entire organization.
