Ukrainian drone and missile attack causes fire at refinery in southwestern Russia

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims to have shot down nearly 85 devices launched in the last few hours

At least one person was injured this Thursday due to a “massive attack” with drones and missiles by the Ukrainian Army against the Russian region of Rostov (southwest), according to the authorities, who have confirmed a fire in a refinery in the area.

The governor of Rostov, Yuri Sliusar, noted in a message posted on his Telegram account that “the Rostov region was subjected to a massive attack by the enemy, which used more than 30 drones and three missiles,” before adding that “most” of them were “neutralized.”

However, it has confirmed a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk refinery, now extinguished, and has specified that “one person has been injured in a populated area near the city of Rostov due to falling drone fragments.”

For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense has highlighted in its Telegram account that Russian air defense systems have destroyed a total of 84 drones launched by Ukraine against the country during the early hours of Thursday, including 36 devices fired at Rostov.

Thus, he added that another 21 drones have been destroyed in Bryansk, to which are added fourteen in Belgorod, six in Voronezh, three in Kursk and Tambov, respectively, and one in Krasnodar, while accusing the “kyiv regime ” of “trying to carry out terrorist attacks” with these devices.
