Gaza authorities raise the death toll from Israel’s offensive against the Strip to more than 45,220

The authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have raised the death toll this Saturday to more than 45,220 due to the military offensive launched by Israel against the enclave after the attacks of October 7, 2023. .

The Gaza Ministry of Health has stated in a statement that to date 45,227 deaths and 107,573 injuries have been confirmed, including 21 “martyrs” and 61 injured due to “three massacres” carried out by Israeli troops during the last 24 hours.

However, he warned that “there are still victims under the rubble and in the streets, given that ambulances and Civil Defense teams cannot reach them,” before stressing that the balance sheets only include victims who have been transferred to Gaza hospitals, most of them out of service.

The Israeli Army launched its offensive against Gaza after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, 2023, carried out by Hamas and other Palestinian groups and which left nearly 1,200 dead and about 250 kidnapped. Additionally, more than 800 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and in settler attacks since then in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
