Shujaa al-Ali, one of the leaders of the Assad regime and Hezbollah activist, was killed in Syria.

In the village of Khirbet al-Hamam, west of Homs, one of the senior commanders of the Bashar al-Assad regime, Shujaa al-Ali, was killed: according to Al-Arabiya, he was killed as a result of clashes with the forces of the new Syrian military administration.

He is reported to be responsible for numerous murders and kidnappings of Lebanese and Syrian citizens for ransom.

Shujaa al-Wli commanded a militia of about 400 fighters from the village of Balqa on the outskirts of Homs. Before the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, his group kidnapped about 15 Syrians heading from Homs to Lebanon.

His group was subordinate to the security services of the Bashar al-Assad regime; according to other sources, the group he led was associated with Hezbollah.
