The ferry Zadar could not sail. Jadrolinija announced: ‘Water was found in the fuel…’

On Friday, Jadrolinija learned that on the Zadar ferry, the crew reported a problem with the fuel, the problem occurred because water was found in the fuel, so it is now being determined how it happened.

The Zadar ferry had to return to the Split City Harbor due to a technical failure on Friday morning, where 164 passengers were transferred to the Petar Hektorovi ferry, which then set sail for the Old Town on Hvar.

According to the coordinator of Jadrolinija’s Split shipping area Jelena Ivulićthe technical problem on the ferry was caused by poor fuel quality.

According to information from INA, that company made the last fuel delivery to Jadrolinija in Split on December 23, and in the meantime there were no claims, complaints or incidents that would indicate problems with fuel.

Ina has a rigorous fuel quality control system, from production to delivery by tankers, the company claims.
