Xi and Putin reaffirm close ties

The Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Wladimir Putin have each other theirs New Year wishes transmitted.

This was reported by China’s state news agency Xinhua on Tuesday. The People’s Republic and Russia would move forward “hand in hand” on the “right path, without entering into alliances, without confrontation and without targeting third countries,” he said Xinhua Xi’s words to Putin.

The political trust and strategic coordination of both countries have reached a higher level under the leadership of the two heads of state. China and Russia would support each other in their roles as chairmen of the BRICS countries and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (WORD) and thus make an important contribution to solidarity and cooperation in the global south.

Xi also reiterated China’s willingness to further deepen Sino-Russian relations and continue close exchanges with Putin. The aim is to further strengthen the relationships, which are characterized by a “long-lasting good neighborly friendship”.

Kim also vows to partner with Putin

The heads of state and party leaders had already agreed in May to develop their “strategic partnership of the new era” on key issues such as the development of bilateral relations, Taiwan, Ukraine and common concerns towards the USA expand. This rapprochement is viewed with concern by Western observers as it could shift the geopolitical balance and influence the global balance of power.

The North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un also assured Putin of a deeper strategic partnership in a letter, North Korea’s state news agency reported KCNA. Kim expressed the wish that 2025 would go down in history as the year in which the Russian army would achieve a great victory. North Korea has intervened in Russia’s war in Ukraine, not only by producing weapons for Russia, the Stalinist country has also sent thousands of soldiers to the war region.
