Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Tuesday, after signing the TKU addendum with part of the trade union, he expressed his satisfaction with the social partnership that is producing results and pointed out that during the term of his government, the salary base increased by almost 48 percent. On Tuesday, the government signed an addendum to the Basic Collective Agreement with part of the public service unions and to the collective agreement with union representatives of state services on increasing the base for salary calculation by three percent from February 1, and additionally a three percent increase from September 1, 2025.

“It is the result of the country’s reforms, a strong European orientation and the euro area, quality absorption of European funds, tax relief, investments, economic growth of 3.6 percent, faster than most eurozone countries,” he said. Nappiesć.

The salary reform made it possible for a total of 244,000 civil servants and employees, most of whom in April, they received a 32 percent higher salary, which is the largest salary increase ever, and 1.63 billion euros were allocated for this.

“The basis for calculating the salaries of civil servants and employees in 2025 will be 947.18 euros gross from January 1 to 31, 975.60 euros gross from February 1 to 31 August and 1004.87 euros gross from September 1, 2025 further,” reported Minister of Labor Marin Piletić and thanked the trade unions for accepting the Government’s offer.

The educational unions, after declaring their membership, rejected the Government’s offer and did not proceed to sign the agreement, but they will also be subject to a 6.1 percent increase in the basic salary in the next year, as well as increase of other material rights.

By increasing the base and coefficients for salary calculation, we will raise the standard of employees, Pileti emphasized.

The coordinator of the public service union, Ankica Prašnjak, expressed her satisfaction with the signed agreement and especially with the increase in compensation for night work from 40 to 50 percent, assessing that “the highest that was possible” had been achieved.

She expressed her regret that the addition to the TKU was not accepted by the representatives of the education unions, although their request not to start applying the evaluation system was also accepted.

Jadranka Dimić on behalf of the Social Welfare Union, she announced that at the beginning of next year, she will request the amendment of the Law on Representativeness, by relaxing the criteria, so that they would no longer be put in a position where the seven public service unions “would be held hostage by three educational unions”.

The president of the Croatian Police Union, Dubravko Jagi, also expressed his satisfaction with the signed agreement on behalf of state officials and employees. and expressed his regret that the benefits will be applied to those who did not sign it.
