Police computer system crashes at German airports

Airports across Germany suffered from a failure that affected the computer systems of the Federal Police, Meduza reports, citing Bild.

We are talking about systems that are used to screen incoming passengers. A police spokesman at Frankfurt Airport said that “a lot of things that the system did had to be done manually.” The cause of the failure is still unknown.

Problems are observed at the airports of Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn and Dortmund, as well as Frankfurt. However, only in Frankfurt can an alternative system be used, and in Düsseldorf, arriving passengers remain on the plane for now.
