From January 7, the main airport of Damascus will resume international flights, reports the Syrian state news agency SANA, citing the statement of the head of the country’s Civil Aviation and Air Transport Department, Ashhad al-Salibi. The official also assured that the government is currently engaged in the restoration of Damascus and Aleppo airports “with the help of partners”.
Syrian airports have stopped working in the background of the change of power that took place in the country last month.
Nevertheless, a number of planes carrying humanitarian aid and foreign diplomatic delegations have landed in Syria in recent days, domestic flights have also resumed.
