An operation against Assad supporters has been launched in Homs

The security services of the new Syrian administration are conducting an operation in Homs, in areas where representatives of the Alawite community live. This community includes former President Bashar al-Assad and a significant part of his circle.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the support of the Directorate of Military Operations, has begun a large-scale combing in Homs. A search is underway for war criminals, those who refused to surrender their weapons, as well as caches of weapons,” the new authorities say.

A representative of the military command told SANA that the authorities received information about the activities of “Assad militants” in Homs, and troops were sent to fight them with the support of armored vehicles. A curfew has been declared in some areas of the city.

Let us recall that clashes between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and those who remain loyal to the overthrown dictator began shortly after the overthrow of the Assad regime. Representatives of minorities fear that the fight will be waged against them and are in no hurry to disarm, as the authorities demand.
