Attack in broad daylight: journalist attacked with a punch in Berlin-Kreuzberg

On Monday afternoon there was an attack on an employee of the “Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism” (JFDA for short) on Reichenberger Strasse in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The journalist was traveling privately when a woman initially insulted her as a “Zionazi”. Shortly afterwards, the perpetrator hit the press representative in the face twice in a row. This is reported by the “Jewish Forum” on Platform X.

As a spokesman for the non-profit association told the Tagesspiegel, the employee is currently on the way to the hospital. The injuries should be documented there. Finally, it will be determined whether the attacked journalist is being treated as an inpatient or an outpatient in the clinic. The “Jewish Forum” also called in the police.

In the past, the attacked reporter had regularly reported on pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the capital. According to the association, the alleged perpetrator can also be placed in this spectrum. She was noticed by her aggressive behavior at several protests.

The “Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism” has been reporting on conspiracy ideology and anti-Semitic demonstrations in Germany for years. At the same time, the association carries out educational work. The goals are to strengthen the democratic state, promote interreligious and intercultural exchange and help those persecuted politically, racially or religiously. This also includes the fight against anti-Semitism and racism.
