This Monday, the United States Congress ratified the results of last November’s presidential elections in which Republican Donald Trump won within the framework of the fourth anniversary of the assault on the Capitol.
US Vice President Kamala Harris, who has presided over the process as president of the Senate, has announced that Trump has obtained 312 votes, above the 270 electoral votes he needed to certify his victory.
Trump, who is scheduled to take office on January 20, has thus surpassed Harris in votes, who has managed to garner only 226 supports. The vote in Congress occurred four years after the assault on the Capitol on January 6.
The president of the House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, managed to revalidate the position on Friday after in a first vote a couple of congressmen from the most conservative wing opted for another option. The appointment was essential to launch the functioning of Congress.
