Due to huge fires: tens of thousands were evacuated from their homes in Los Angeles

Huge fires broke out in the last day in California, and they continue to spread following one of the fiercest windstorms the region has known in the last decade. So far, about 30 thousand people have been evacuated from their homes, and the roads on the famous Sunset Avenue were filled with vehicles stuck in huge traffic jams.

In the meantime, over 80,000 homes were disconnected from the electricity grid, either due to the severe storm damage or as a proactive disconnection in order to prevent the fires from worsening. The state’s governor, Gavin Newsom, has declared a state of emergency in parts of the state, and authorities are warning that the worst is yet to come.
