Farewell to Jimmy Carter: coffin laid out in the Capitol

Special honor for Carter

The funeral ceremonies for Carter first began in his home state of Georgia. His body was finally flown to the US capital Washington on Tuesday. His coffin was carried to the Capitol on a horse-drawn wagon. A ceremony will take place in the Capitol Rotunda only a few American personalities allocated. The citizens can now say goodbye to Carter there.

The celebration of Carter’s memory will end on Thursday with a large memorial service in Washington and a private burial in Carter’s hometown of Plains afterwards.
