Maduro regime arrests citizens of the USA, Colombia and Ukraine

Members of the Venezuelan regime announced this Tuesday (7) the arrest of seven foreigners, two from the United States, two from Colombia and three from Ukraine, accused of being “mercenaries”.

According to dictator Nicolás Maduro, they intended to carry out “terrorist” actions three days before his contested inauguration for a new presidential term. “Today alone, we have captured, to date, seven foreign mercenaries, including two important US mercenaries,” said the Chavista leader at an event in Caracas.

Maduro, who will be sworn in on Friday (10) for a third consecutive six-year term in power, said that this group of “mercenaries” adds to the 125, from a total of 25 nationalities, captured in November and December.

According to him, the foreigners planned to “carry out terrorist actions against the peace of Venezuela”, a country in crisis after the July 28 presidential elections, in which Maduro was proclaimed winner by the electoral body, the National Electoral Council (CNE).

The result is classified as fraudulent by the opposition, which claims the victory of its main candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, currently in exile in Spain and who guaranteed that he will be in Venezuela on Friday to take office.

The Chavista regime claims that the 125 captured “mercenaries” had as their “first mission” to attack the vice-president and minister of Oil and Gas, Delcy Rodríguez, and then carry out “specific tasks of attacking public services”, carrying out “terrorist acts” and also attack other “leaders of the Bolivarian revolution”.

Maduro accused the Argentine government, on Monday, of being involved in this alleged plan against Rodríguez, as part of what he defined as “international fascist aggression” against Venezuela.
