After two years: A Palestinian resident arrested for gang rape of a Polish tourist

The indictment was filed against a resident of the territories for a series of offenses, including the rape and assault of a tourist from Poland about two years ago.

Police in the Etzion police station arrested the main suspect accused of gang-raping a tourist from Poland, after a long period in which he was held by the Palestinian Authority, from where he was recently released.

Following a police investigation and after formulating an evidentiary basis, the military prosecution filed an indictment against the defendant, a resident of Judea and Samaria, on June 9, 2022 (Thursday), in a series of offenses including rape and assault.

The indictment was filed for his actions on the night of February 20, 2020 to February 21, 2020, when four friends, including the defendant, and with knife and gun threats committed very serious sexual and violent offenses against the victim, a Polish citizen visiting the area at the time.

All this, after they violently attacked another victim who was present with it and forced him to watch the acts. The indictment also attributes to the defendant additional offenses from the night of his arrest, so he tried to escape from the police officers who sought his arrest.

Upon filing the indictment, the defendant was detained until the end of the legal proceedings in his case. For the acts of rape and violence described, a joint indictment was filed in September 2020 against two defendants, the defendant’s accomplices in the shocking acts. The case of the two is still pending.
