Former Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia was attacked in Batumi

The former Prime Minister of Georgia, the founder of the “For Georgia” party, Giorgi Gakharian was attacked in one of the hotels in Batumi, reports the Georgian service of “Freedom”, referring to Gela Mtivlishvili, an eyewitness to the incident, editor of “Mti News”.

“A few minutes ago, members of the illegitimate parliament of the Russian regime and the Supreme Council of Adjara, Dmitry Samkharadze, Giorgi Manvelidze, and others attacked our friend Giorgi Gakharia, who was staying in the same hotel, at the Sheraton Hotel in Batumi. Gakharia was taken to the hospital,” wrote Mtivlishvili on Facebook, publishing attached photos.

Possible causes of the incident are not reported.

It is noted that Gakharia received medical care in the hospital and underwent a preliminary examination.

The hospital informed journalists that the politician’s nose was broken and he also suffered a brain concussion, but after undergoing a medical examination, he voluntarily left the clinic.
