Italy-Emirates, Enel with Cattaneo in Abu Dhabi together with Meloni

The CEO of Enel, Flavio Cattaneo is in Abu Dhabi today, together with the Prime Minister, Giorgia Melonifor the opening ceremony of Sustainability Week 2025an event that has been promoting interaction between countries and the main local players in the field of sustainable development for over fifteen years.

Energy represents one of the main chapters of cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Italy and, in this area, Enel – the only Italian energy company present – is at its summit, bringing its know-how and experience as a leader world of renewable energy and energy transition in 28 countries around the world. As far as we know, confirming the excellent relations between the Italian electricity group and the main local companies, last December Enel finalized a long-term industrial partnership worth 1.7 billion euros with Masdar, an Abu Dhabi company leader in the green energy in the United Arab Emirates for the development of renewable energy in Spain through Endesa, a company controlled by Enel. Possible new collaborations between Enel and Masdar in the future in the field of renewable energy cannot be ruled out.

The visit to Abu Dhabi once again shows the crucial role of large companies in the government’s foreign policy, and in particular of Enel, which in recent months has intensified its international relations in various strategic areas of the world. In continuity with the spirit of the Mattei Plan and in the wake of the G7 experience in Puglia, the country system consolidates the virtuous alliance between institutions and large industrial groups, especially those active in fundamental areas such as energy, to increase the international projection of Village.
