Gaza celebrates the ceasefire – a senior Palestinian exposes the bluff

In Lebanon, Gaza and Jenin, celebrations began ahead of the official announcement of the ceasefire. At the same time, the adviser to the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) commented: “The current ceasefire agreement is ‘weak'”.

Mahmoud Abbas’ adviser told the Saudi Al-Haddad network: “The current ceasefire agreement is ‘weak’ and Hamas has not achieved any ‘flood to Al-Aqsa'”, adding that according to the agreement with Egypt: “The Palestinian Authority will take over the affairs of Gaza.”

On the other hand, a senior Hamas official told the “Reuters” news agency: “The cease-fire agreement is a huge achievement.” The statement published by the terrorist organization reads: “The cease-fire agreement is the result of the firm and historic stand of our people and of the brave resistance in the Gaza Strip for 15 months. This agreement is a success for the Palestinian people and resistance, as well as for the Islamic and Arab nations and for the people of the free. Meanwhile, an official in Israel announced this evening (Wednesday) that a kidnapping deal had been reached. A large majority in the government and cabinet are expected to vote in favor. At the same time, the terrorist organization Hamas officially confirmed that it had given its approval to the mediators. In the US they also congratulated the deal and confirmed that a hostage deal and a ceasefire had indeed been officially reached.

Earlier, a senior political official in the Israeli negotiating team informed that the terrorist organization Hamas decided at the last minute to set new demands – this time in relation to the Philadelphia axis, contrary to the maps already approved by the cabinet and the American mediators. A short time later it was announced that the crisis had been resolved. According to a report on the Al-Arabiya channel, Israel offered to be part of the supervision of the Philadelphia Axis as part of the cease-fire agreement, but the Palestinian terrorist organizations opposed this. In the end, Israeli officials were persuaded to agree to the withdrawal of their forces from the area, and agreed to withdraw from the axis as part of the emerging agreement.
