Ankara “highly appreciated Yerevan’s cooperation” in the matter of extraditing two persons to Turkey

Turkey “highly appreciated Armenia’s cooperation” with Ankara regarding the extradition of two persons involved in crime to Turkey, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced.

Ankara reminded that on January 19, 2025, Armenia extradited two persons to Turkey in response to Interpol’s Red Notice request.

On Sunday, the Foreign Ministry of Armenia announced that “responding to the request submitted by the Interpol Red Notice, on January 19, 2025, Armenia extradited to Turkey two persons who were involved in organized crime in Turkey.”

And how these persons appeared in Armenia, the Armenian side did not elaborate.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya later announced that Ercan Yilmaz and Ibrahim Kaymak were transferred from Armenia to Turkey by the Turkish police, Yilmaz is the leader of an organized crime group and Kaymak is a member of the group, they face at least 15 and 6 years in prison in Ankara, respectively.
