Special prayers in Baku: The Jewish community respects Trump

In the Jewish community in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, special prayers were held this week in honor of the President of the United States, Donald Trump on the background of his swearing-in. At the event, the children of the community and the adults gathered together for a joint prayer of the Psalms and prayers for blessing and success for the American president.

Rabbi of the Sephardic community in Baku, Rabbi Zamir Isayev gave warm speeches to the audience, and emphasized the unique place of the United States as a “kingdom of kindness”. The rabbi praised Trump for his work for Israel, the Jewish people and peace in the world, and even noted his efforts to strengthen the friendly ties between the United States and Azerbaijan, ties in which, according to him, the Jewish community in the United States has a central role. The rabbi noted that only recently senior representatives of the Jewish community in the United States came to visit Baku.

Strengthening ties with Israel and standing up to the Iranian axis

Rabbi Issev specifically referred to Trump’s support for Israel and his commitment to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the face of security challenges, especially in the face of the Iranian threat. “Trump strengthened the warm ties between Israel and Azerbaijan,” the rabbi noted, adding that during his tenure the relations between the countries only deepened.
At the event, Rabbi Issev called on the members of the community to continue to pray for the president’s success, out of gratitude for his efforts for diplomatic and international cooperation.

New research: Azerbaijan – a key player in the Middle East

At the same time, a new study published by the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies sheds light on Azerbaijan’s critical role in the Middle East. The study notes that the country, which has a Muslim majority, has become a key partner of Israel and the US, thanks to its continuous support for Israel and the security and intelligence cooperation between them.

Among the prominent findings in the study: Azerbaijan’s strategic location on the border of Iran and Russia, its role as a major energy exporter to Europe, and its contribution to reducing dependence on Russia. The researchers emphasize that Azerbaijan’s partnership helps regional stability and the fight against security threats.

The event in Baku and the new study illustrate Azerbaijan’s special position as a bridge between East and West, and its significant contribution to relations between Israel, the US and other countries.
