Murder trial in Nuremberg: Lithuanians lay man on railway track

Nuremberg (Bavaria) – The three defendants from Lithuania were taken to the Nuremberg-Fürth regional court in shackles. You are accused of murder with base motives.

During the argument they are said to have beaten 48-year-old Raimonds K. from Latvia unconscious and then dumped him on a railway track. A short time later, the victim was run over by a train and torn to pieces.

“I have no memories of what happened,” said the single temporary worker Ovidijus A. (32) through his lawyer.

On the day of the crime they drank vodka

The victim and the alleged perpetrators lived in Bavarian Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate in a fitter’s accommodation. On the day of the crime, April 4, 2024, Ovidijus A., the drywaller Nedas J. (22, temporary worker) and Svajunas L. (25, car electrician) were sitting together on the stairs in front of the accommodation and drinking cans of vodka mix from the supermarket.

“I don’t usually drink vodka. Actually just beer. That day I wanted something sweet.” A. could no longer remember how much he drank: “I don’t remember exactly how much. Maybe six or seven doses,” the lawyer stated.

It wasn’t until a police officer took his fingerprints and told him that he was suspected of having killed someone that the memories came back.

Then Ovidijus A. spoke for himself: “I have never been violent. Except for a few fights. What is in the indictment and Witnesses say, is unbelievable. I am appalled by these allegations. I don’t remember taking part in it.”

When smoking in the yard, the 32-year-old is said to have… Victim may have clashed – for a trivial reason that has not yet been clarified, said senior public prosecutor Claudia Lochmiller. The trigger may have been an unintentional touch or a provocative statement.

The Targeted has scheduled the procedure to last a total of 19 days. The verdict is due to come on April 10th.
