“Exhibition of gratitude”. Aliyev about the policy of the former US administration

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called the former US President Joe Biden’s administration biased and claimed that the policies of the Democrats led to the crisis in Azerbaijani-American relations. The leader of Azerbaijan announced this at the meeting held in Davos with Johnnie Moore, the head of the American Congress of Christian Leaders.

“During the administration of Biden and Blinken, the United States has shown bias towards Azerbaijan, as a result of which a crisis has arisen in bilateral relations,” said the press release of the Azerbaijani presidency.

Aliyev also criticized the rewriting of Article 907 of the “Freedom Assistance Act”, which limits the US government’s assistance to Baku. The President of Azerbaijan assessed this decision of the previous US government as a “manifestation of gratitude”.
