Trump closed diversity and inclusion departments in government agencies

US President Donald Trump has placed all Diversity and Inclusion (DEIA) employees at federal agencies on paid leave. The departments themselves must stop working on the evening of January 22.

According to the memorandum sent out by the Civil Service Administration, all DEIA websites and pages on social networks must be deleted by 17:00 on January 22. On January 23, institutions must submit to the department a complete list of employees of these departments as of November 5, 2024, the day of the presidential election.

Ensuring equality has been a high priority for the Joe Biden administration. Thus, Kamala Harris became the first woman and the first black person to serve as vice president, and Dr. Rachel Levine, appointed assistant secretary of health, became the first transgender person in federal service.
