President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Zoran Milanovic; on Friday, he met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Tihomir Kundid and the commanders, where he said that he will continue to advocate for the development of the Armed Forces in accordance with the stated needs and priorities.
Milanović confirmed to the military top that he will continue to advocate for the development and strengthening of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia in accordance with the needs and priorities expressed by the Chief of Staff, the Office of the President announced on Friday.
At the meeting, he also stressed that he would continue to “protect the Croatian Army from daily and foreign politics” and reiterated his firm position that strategic and the most complex issues in the field of defense must be discussed at the Council. in which all state authorities responsible for defense are required to participate.
Chief of Staff Kundid informed the President about the priorities and main activities of the Armed Forces planned for 2025.
He also informed him about the implementation of the equipping and modernization of the Armed Forces and about the planned procurement of military equipment.
The President’s Office reported that the meeting also discussed the state of the reserve component of the army and the need to strengthen the human resources of the Armed Forces.
Along with Kundid, the director of the Main Staff Krešo Tuškan, assistant to the head of the Main Staff for health Boris Zdilar, commander of the Croatian Army Blaž Beretin, Commander of the Croatian Air Force Michael Križanec, Commander of the Croatian Navy Damir Dojkić, Commander of the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman” Slaven Zdilar and Deputy Commander of the Support Command Ivan Raos.
Along with Milanovi, the head of the Office of the President Orsat Miljeni, the President’s defense advisor Ivica Oluji were present at the meeting. and head of the Military Office of the Cabinet for Defense and National Security of the Office of the President Ivica Kranjevi.
