He Governor of Kursk,Alexander Jindshtéin met this Saturday with a group of refugees of that Russian region, partially occupied by Ukrainian troops, to treat their situation in the face of multiple complaints about the lack of housing.
During the meeting, the local leader promised solve the refugee problem and advocated publicly the list of the disappeared during the Ukranain incursion.
“This list must be public (…) so that family members know that these people have not also disappeared for the authorities, so that the international community also knows,” said Jinshtéin, cited by the TASS agency.
In his telegram channel, the governor He wrote that he had met with representatives of three border districts of Kursk affected by the Ukrainian military operation, which began on August 6.
“In the Sviridovski concert hall there were more than a thousand people and the meeting lasted almost five hours,” he said.
He promised that there will be more meetings with refugees, also from other areas affected by the incursion, to find a solution to the problems they face.
During the past week the inhabitants of Kursk protested twice to make their voice heard by the authorities.
Russia announced last week that it had released 63.2 % of Kursk territory, occupied by Ukrainian troops since August 6, 2024.
This Saturday the Russian Defense Ministry said the enemy had suffered more than 360 casualties in Kursk during the last 24 hours and that their losses since August approached 55,000 people.
