The top-seeded tennis doubles Katerina Siniakova/Taylor Townsend lived up to their role as favorites and won the Australian Open. The Czech Siniakova and the American Townsend prevailed in the final 6:2, 6:7 (4:7), 6:3 against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko and Su-Wei Hsieh from Taiwan.
For Siniakova and Townsend it was the second title in their third Grand Slam start together. Last year the duo triumphed at the grass classic in Wimbledon. For the 28-year-old Siniakova it was the tenth Grand Slam doubles victory.
