For Elly Schlein the only way to create a center -left government alternative remains that of the collaboration of the opposition on the themes. Words awaited above all in the light of the debate that was triggered in the Democratic Party and in part of the oppositions, after the words of Dario Franceschini.

The former Minister and former Dem Secretary suggests setting the question of the construction of the wide or progressive field, who wants to run, to run separated in the next political elections, each focusing on the proportional part of the challenge and looking for agreements only on the majority one. A sort of agreement that would have the double advantage of avoiding the crossed vetoes inside the perimeter of the oppositions, on the one hand, and regaining the moderate vote that would not be ‘forced’ to vote on the left-left parties or the M5S. A reading that has not convinced a good part of the Democratic Party and that raised strong doubts in the same summit. A few hours after Franceschini’s interview, in fact, Schlein had liquidated the matter by declaring: “I prefer not to answer and take care of more concrete themes”. The Franceschini in Von MolTke version, “Marciare divided, hit together”, does not convince even the father of the olive tree, more fond of the classic “Union is strength”. For Prodi, “it can be ruled when they harmonize the programs, they make themselves examined by experts, discuss with people and go to the electorate with a common line”.

The 5 Star Movement replied with a “Valutiamo” to Franceschini’s proposal. From Campo Marzio lets himself be known that the idea is compatible with the aspirations of the Five Star Community as well as out of Nova, the constituent assembly of the movement. That is, no to structural alliances, but it is decided time at a time based on the electoral passage that is facing. Therefore, a comparison on this is possible.

To take the idea of ​​Dario Franceschini seriously is Matteo Renzi. More skepticism is recorded within the Democratic Party where the idea does not heat the hearts. “Franceschini advances a proposal in my opinion excessively pragmatic, which evades very important points necessary for the construction of an alternative”, says Alessandro Alfieri, exponent of the minority of popular energy and member of the Dem secretariat: “I am among those who continue to think that The Democratic Party does not have to renounce the majority plural party vocation, with a reformist profile and a culture of government “, adds Alfieri inviting, as the dem leader does, to start again” from the participatory method followed for the battle on differentiated autonomy. It is clear that it will be necessary to identify the figure that represents and holds together projects and subjects, nominating at the helm of the country “.

Finally, the timing of the ‘Lodo’ Franceschini leaves perplexed: “We have worked so far by proclaiming us ‘stubbornly unitary’, so we risk not making us understand”, is the reasoning offered by a leading exponent of the Democratic Party that underlines how more than two years to policies are missing: too much to open a debate that, if It aims to change the electoral law, it must be done more close to the appointment with the polls, in order not to lose “the surprise effect”.
