The Jewish community in Baku indicates International Holocaust Day

The Jewish community in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, held exciting ceremonies on Monday to mark the day of International Holocaust. The events included prayers and conferences designed to emphasize the importance of the preservation of the Holocaust and the fight against anti -Semitism, along with strengthening ties with the State of Israel.

The main event was led by Rabbi Zamir Ishiev, president and rabbi of the Spanish community in Baku, who referred to the importance of commemorative and the fight against anti -Semitic phenomena. “Standing vigilant against anti -Semitic phenomena is essential to prevent the recurrence of similar tragedies,” he said. He added that Holocaust symbols should not be allowed to distribute blood plots, and called on Jewish communities around the world to stand together against the attempts to distort history.

Rabbi Istiev emphasized Azerbaijan’s support for her Jews throughout history, including during World War II, when the state granted asylum to more than 55,000 Jews who fled the Nazis. “The residents of Azerbaijan shared with the Jews with the Jews,” he noted.

In his speech, Rabbi Istiev referred to a convention in Washington on International Holocaust Day, initiated by an Armenian organization called A.N.C. The purpose of the gathering, he said, was to spread false claims about the “danger of ethnic purification” against the Armenian community in Jerusalem, against the backdrop of a hotel construction project owned by an Israeli businessman. “The choice of this date for distributing lies on the Jews is a cynical manipulation,” the rabbi said, adding that while the Armenian and Christian communities in Israel enjoy religious freedom and extensive rights, this reality is not similar to their attitude in other countries.

Rabbi Istiv called on all Jewish communities in the world to continue to fight together anti -Semitism. “The commemoration of the Holocaust is not just a Jewish matter – it is a moral obligation of all humanity,” emphasized.

At the end of the incident, the rabbi emphasized the message conveyed in ceremonies: “The events here in Baku show our commitment to preserve the Holocaust, to fight any discovery of anti -Semitism, and strengthen the relationships with the State of Israel.
