The number of victims of the crust at the festival in northern India increased to 40

The Uttar-Pradesh, the authorities of the Indian state, report that the number of victims of the crush at the festival of Mach Kumbha Mela, held in the city of Prayagaggagos, at the confluence of the Gang and Yamuna rivers, reached 40 people.

Hundreds of people were injured, some of them are hospitalized in serious condition. The number of victims can increase.

The festival of Mach Kumbha Mela, dedicated to Mauni Amavasya – the second new moon after the winter solstice, is held in the north of India every 12 years. It began on January 13th. More than 110 million pilgrims who were battered in the Ganges have already taken part in it.

Despite the tragedy, the events of the festival will continue. In just 45 days of the festival, it is expected that about 450 million people, including 1.5 million foreigners, will take part in it.
