Australia anti -Semitism reached a new peak, the Jewish community in shock
The Jewish community in Australia is worried after the morning (Wednesday) revealed that a terrorist attack was thwarted in a synagogue in Sydney. In view of an increase of more than 120% on anti-Semitic events in the past year, community members express heavy concern for their safety. Alon Cassuto, CEO of Australia’s Zionist Federation: “If they were successful – it would have brought the most difficult terrorist attack on Australia land.”Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemned the incident in his X account, and attacked Australia government: “Unforgivable. The anti-Semitism epidemic spreads in Australia almost uninhibited.

In a conversation with the N12, Cassoto emphasizes that for over a year, the Jewish community is warned by the authorities that “uncontrolled incitement and weak leadership” have created a dangerous environment for Jews. “This event is another expression of the inexperienced hatred that continues to hurt our community,” he added.

The Jewish Board of Deputies in Sydney, too, is shocked by the case. In a statement from the organization’s president David Osip, they also emphasized that community members are alerted to the authorities for months. “The result could be fatal. We are in continuous contact with law enforcement agencies to bring about the security of community members.”

Chris Minnes, New South Wales Prime Minister, announced this morning with the police commander of the move that led to an unusual amount of explosives – in an assault outline that was not seen in the severe anti -Semitism during the past year.

At the special press conference on the occasion of the exposure of the attack, a trailer was found in explosive materials. The Australian Sky News network reported that the investigation was opened about ten days ago – following the suspected trailer located throughout the city. One of the local residents sought to drag and move the trailer – and then revealed that many explosives were placed. In addition, the caravan was also located in “LZ *** the Jews” as well as an address of a synagogue in the city.

Local Prime Minister Chris Minnes made it clear that he allocated all resources to investigate the affair, promising to stop all involved. At present, no suspects arrested as part of the affair were not reported. “I want to say this explicitly, and I understand the community’s concerns about this story and a series of other anti -Semitic incidents, anyone involved in terrorism, violence, hatred – will receive the full treatment of the law,” Mines said.

Speaking to the N12, the Deputy Foreign Minister Sharan Hashav says that for a few weeks she has been working with the authorities in Australia: “I lived just beyond the street where the Jewish kindergarten was set up two weeks ago, I told about it in the local media in several interviews I had on the subject.”

Although the attack was thwarted, it is hard to ignore the wave of anti -Semitism in the country. Actions on the subject in front of the authorities?

“Many actions are done. I met with the Australian Minister of Justice about three weeks ago – it was a very difficult conversation. Seriously where the police take the cases following the activities being carried out. ”

In recent weeks in particular and in the last year, there has been an unprecedented escalation in the number of anti -Semitic incidents in Australia. Most of the incidents occurred in the city of Sydney, where a large Jewish community lived, but also a small Muslim community. Over the past few weeks, cases of spraying spray, houses of houses and marking of killer crosses in a synagogue in the city have been documented.
