Trump wants air protocol review and hiring changes

United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to review the hiring and protocol changes made under the command of his predecessor, Joe Biden, after suggesting that they caused the air crash of this Wednesday in Washington, the deadliest in over two decades.

The order also aims to “take the corrective measures necessary to achieve uncompromising air safety, including the replacement of anyone who does not meet qualification standards”.

“This review will include a systematic assessment of any deterioration in hiring standards and aviation security standards and protocols during the Biden government,” the document says.

On Thursday, a commercial plane with 60 passengers and four crew crashed with a military helicopter with three people on board just before landing at Ronald Reagan airport in Washington. The two aircraft fell into the Potomac River, and the authorities ruled out the possibility of survivors.

“American families woke up today without their loved ones after what should have been a routine trip, and the whole nation regrets the loss of the victims. This shocking event occurs after worrying and probably illegal decisions during the governments of (Barack) Obama and Biden, who minimized the merit and competence of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), ”said Trump.
